The path is everywhere

No matter how things are unfolding for you at this time, you can receive the secret transmission of this love-world you have taken birth within: everything here is path, nothing is out of place, and the entirety of your experience is alive with intelligence. Though it may appear otherwise, you are not broken and are not in need of fixing. Your heart is being polished, your body is being washed clean, and waves of creativity and integration are re-ordering your world. It is okay to fall apart.

Though it is disorienting at times, you are seeing that you need not do anything in response to even the most disturbing movements within you. Whatever arises in your immediate experience is of the nature of pure consciousness itself, is translucent, and is emerging into this reality as one of the emissaries of the beloved, to illuminate your pathway home.

Without the light that shines out of the darkness, the journey will always be hidden in the shadows.

Will you take just one sacred pause? Set aside everything you know, for just one moment, and lay your hands on your heart. Feel the aliveness of the sacred world. See that there is no grace coming in the future, there is no awakening around the corner, for love is here now.

Let go of the weary path of needing to change, to transform, to heal, to awaken, to be more spiritual, to be a better person, to accept everything, and to hold it all together. Just for a moment. Give yourself to the preciousness that is holding you.

You are in a pure environment, in the realm of the heart, and are always surrounded by guides of the seen and unseen worlds. They have come now to reveal the most radical truth of this dimension: all of your experience is valid, nothing has gone wrong, and the path is everywhere.

As you sink into the core of what you are, rest naturally with the breath as it moves in and out of your lungs. As your entire being is infused with your commitment to self-kindness and to giving yourself to this world, you start to sense the movement of another substance within you, passing in and out of your heart.

Friends, this is no ordinary air. It is love.

They have come to make love with you

There is so much intelligence in your hopelessness if you will turn toward it and mine the wisdom it offers. You have been taught that hope is required and that it is a true “spiritual” quality which is necessary to open your heart to this world. But the wild reality of love will never conform to your hopes and fears.

There is a line between sanity and confusion which is not nearly as solid or continuous as it may appear. We could say that love is the bridge between the two, though it is not the love that the mind knows. This bridge is translucent, and is crafted of your self-kindness and luminous creativity, emerging out of the unknown to reveal the wisdom within your neurosis.

Your hopelessness is path, and is a pure reflection of untainted original awareness, revealing the most radical truth that there is no ultimate reference point in which you can rest any longer. Groundlessness is becoming your home now, for it is within this raging crucible of hopelessness that the conceptual world falls away. In its place is wide empty space, but it is so warm there, and so pregnant with the qualities of love. It is this warmth which enables you to share yourself with others and with this precious world. You are no longer ashamed to be what you are.

Your sadness, your vulnerability, and your hopelessness – these guests have not come into your experience so that they can be healed, transformed, changed, or transcended. They are not problems which need fixing or more evidence of your failure. They have come to make love with you, and to reveal their nature as path, weaving and interpenetrating your tenderness with everything around you.

At death, inside your heart there may only be one burning question: How well did I love?

You are quite sure that tomorrow will come, that the most sacred breath will be there, that grace will take shape as the sun falling into the ocean, the moon in the sky, the birds singing, the sacred life all around you, the colors of this astonishing world, and another opportunity to give and receive love.

But another part of you knows it is really so fragile here, so precarious, so extraordinary – that something is happening here that is so very precious, and that it will not be here for much longer.

You have taken birth in a star where love is alive, and you are willing to give your heart to others and to this world. You do not know for sure, but you sense that it is very very rare to be here. You are willing for your heart to be broken, to feel sadness, to burn for love, to stay raw, to remain unbearably tender, and to never apologize for your sensitivity and vulnerability.

At the end of this life – which is sure to come much, much sooner than you’d like – it is quite unlikely you’ll be asking if you accomplished enough, if you perfected yourself, if you've remained safe, or if you achieved all of your goals. Inside your heart there may be only one burning question: how well did I love?

Did I pause each day to behold the movement of grace as it is appearing in each and every moment? Did I look up into the sunset and the glory of the moon and give my heart to this world? Did I risk everything to know the preciousness of this experience here? Was I willing to feel more, care so deeply, let everyone matter, and be utterly devastated at even the possibility of one more sunrise? Was I willing to fall in love, to truly fall in love?

Did I spend my time here in this star of love wisely, with my heart open, knowing it could be broken in any moment? Did I dance with the beloved around the moon, wander with her into the desert and the darkness, play with her in the depths of the oceans, and give everything for just one glimpse of the mysteries of separation and union?

I hope I make it all the way through this sweetest of ever thanksgiving days, but if for some reason I do not, this would have been enough. I have been given so much more than enough.

The golden world

At times, your journey will reveal itself as the lonely path of disappointment. When the beloved appears as the unraveling of egoic process, you lose your enchantment with who you thought you were and everything you thought you knew.

When you are willing to weave a home for it, you may see that your disappointment is illuminated with heart-wisdom and is drenched with creativity. It is revealing your connection with the earth, with your body, and with the reality that love will never conform to your concepts. The deflation of your world is the secret gift of the beloved one.

Though it may appear your disappointment is working against you, please look again. Take refuge in your disappointment for it is the portal through which you can be delivered into the magic of the golden world.
