I'm writing to invite you to a free webinar - Befriending Yourself in Difficult Times - which will take place next Wednesday, June 5, at 4pm Pacific/ 7pm New York time. Even if you're not able to join us live you will receive access to the video replay as well as a free copy of our new eBook 6 Principles for Befriending Yourself in Difficult Times.
To register (at no cost) please visit the Befriending Yourself webinar page. Alternatively, if that link is not working for you, please try https://www.befriendingyourself.com/webinar-opt-in/.
During the call, Jeff Foster and I will discuss both spiritual and depth psychological approaches to cultivating self-compassion and presence, especially during the inevitably challenging times in our lives. This exploration is one that has been lifesaving for me as well as for the many thousands around the world I have bee n honored to meet and work with in psychotherapy as well as on retreat.
Here are some of the topics we're likely to cover:
- The shift from “healing to holding” - the internal alchemy that happens when we stop trying to fix or even “heal” ourselves, and instead find our loving ground in embodiment and presence.
- How our wounding, shame, and vulnerability are “not pathology, but path”; how even disappointment, confusion and failure are sacred portals into a deeper and more authentic relationship with life.
- Imagining “negative” parts of our experience - especially difficult emotions - as lost children, returning home for love
- The importance of slowing down, and taking life one moment at a time.
I hope to see you online at the webinar next week.
My next book, A Healing Space: Befriending Yourself in Difficult Times, will be published by Sounds True in 2020.
