Rest in the field of love

The forms that love take are by nature arising and dissolving in each moment. For this is the way of form. But love itself is that which never comes and goes.

We never know what form love will choose to take in the future, for there is no love in the future. Love is only now. We will never be able to resolve or pin down the movement of love as it is infinitely creative and at all times unfolding into mandalas of greater wholeness and cohesion.

If we become too fused with the specific form we believe we need love to take, our hearts will always break when love obliterates that form for something new, which it always will. For that is its gift to us – the revelation of the eternal dance of separation and union.

Rather than turning from it, you can honor this heartbreak and enter into intimacy with it. For it is a special envoy of the beloved, sent from the unseen to dissolve old dreams and to seed your body with pathways of unprecedented aliveness. These envoys will take whatever form they must to reach you, even as the luminous tulip ones, to pierce your heart and to remind you of something ancient that you’d forgotten.

Rest in the field of love, that which never comes and goes. For this is what you are.
