Immersed in the sacred world
Right in the center of all your neurotic activity; hidden in the depths of each and every emotion; buried inside all of your less-than-awakened thoughts and feelings; weaved into the endless quest to be something different than what you are, is mandala of creativity. Just inside the darkness, weaved into the cells of your very own heart, is an unmined field of jewels. As you descend into the body, penetrating into the raging, alive realm of sensations, you are met by pure intelligence. Love is at work behind the scenes, unfolding your world according to a blueprint that was crafted out of the stars. Things are not what they seem.
Inside anger is a certain kind of clarity; in the center of fear is a raging, yet-to-be-born freedom; sadness is discovered to be made of luminous pieces of compassion; grief is a portal into your own vulnerability. If you allow yourself to be touched, to care enough, to be kind enough to hold your experience as it arises, it very naturally self-liberates into particles of light, appearing within a vast space, impregnated with the qualities of loving awareness. In this environment, the line between wisdom and neurosis becomes blurred; the boundaries crumble between ego and enlightenment, between sanity and madness, between here and there, between self and no-self, between sacred and profane – they all begin to dissolve in front of your eyes.
You watch as your neurosis is revealed to be of the nature of wisdom itself, formed by the intelligence of an out of control sort of grace; you see that inside each and every cell of your naked body is a pathway of transmutation. It is revealed to you that this life never was a problem after all; that nothing was broken, that you need not leave this body to be immersed in the sacred world, for what you are is already unbearably holy. You need not seek some magical new state of consciousness, for that which is here now is outrageously consecrated with pure spirit. Your entire sensory world has been crafted out of the stars, the galaxies, the oceans, and out of the dust of the beloved; and you remain in awe at just one glimpse of the truth of what is really happening here, of what it really means to be a human being.
